Monterey
Monterey isn’t short on natural wonders. From the depths of an underwater canyon (its height rivals that of the Grand Canyon) to sand dunes, craggy cliffs, oak forest, and chaparral, it’s the place you marvel at in travel magazines, read about in Steinbeck novels, and are entranced by on HBO dramas. More than just scenery, Monterey is full of interesting history, fantastic seafood, and friendly people. Contact us if you want to experience it all.

It’s an active community with a penchant for conservation and outdoor adventuring. Nearby universities and an active military base bring their share of students and families to the area, and retirees appreciate the serene atmosphere and neighborly vibe. The area also attracts a number of internationals with its diverse marine life, Defense Language Institute (it’s the “language capital of the world”), and the world’s longest-running jazz festival.
Residential Style
Residential styles are as diverse as the ecosystem in Monterey, from luxury estates to multi-family residences. Modern waterfront condos provide all the latest amenities and organic-style homes in the hills of Skyline Forest offer a pine-scented vantage point over Del Monte Beach. Gated golf communities with custom homes can be found at both Pasadera Country Club and Laguna Seca Golf Course and, on rare occasion, one of the beautifully updated mid-century ranch homes of Old Del Monte Golf Course will come on the market – if you’re eyeing one of those, act fast.
Activities and Entertainment
The obvious activities are the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row’s shopping, dining, and historical markers. Thanks to incredible curation and passionate developers, neither ever gets old. The aquarium’s Open Sea exhibit makes it possible to gape in amazement at life beyond the confines of the bay – but the bay itself yields some pretty fun sights. Go kayaking on Elkhorn Slough to see sea otters, harbor seals, and sea lions just a few feet away. You can also enjoy wildlife by land on the ocean-front biking path or in nearby Ano Nuevo State Reserve, where a unique hike winds through the brush and along the coast to pass a large elephant seal colony. Wind down at Peter B’s Brewpub or take in the sunset and the best bowl of clam chowder you’ll ever taste at Old Fisherman’s Grotto.
